Research
Our research is at the interface of basic questions in biology, such as how organisms adapt to changing environments, and applied problems involving microbial communities, such as how to combat antimicrobial resistance and develop new therapeutic solutions.
In terms of research, the group includes two independent subunits working on pathogen ecology and evolution (group leader: Alex Hall) and co-evolution and gene transfer (group leader: Carolin Wendling). These research subunits interact frequently with each other and are both part of the Pathogen Ecology group (group head: Alex Hall).
